Buttweld Pipe Joints are the recognized standard for leak-proof pipe fabrication in medium and high pressure systems as well as in pipelines handling corrosive and hazardous fluids, high and low temperature media, and a variety of other applications.
Our factory produces premium quality buttweld joints that have received approval from leading international oil and petrochemical companies, and a variety of low-cost alternative joints for other applications. All stock carbon steel buttweld joints fully comply with the material and manufacturing standards detailed here, with the added benefit of a maximum carbon content of 0.23% for optimal weld joint integrity.
DIMENSION SPECIFICATIONS
ASME/NC B16.9:
Carbon steel buttweld joint. Covers overall dimensions, tolerances, ratings, testing and marking of 15 mm to 1200 mm buttweld joints.
ASME B16.25:
Buttweld ends. Covers buttweld end preparation and design details for all buttweld pipe system components. Includes requirements for bevel welding for external and internal forming of thick wall components and for internal end preparation (including dimensions and tolerances)
MSS SP-48:
Carbon steel butt weld fittings 650 mm and larger. Includes dimensions and tolerances of long radius elbows, tees and reducers in sizes 650 to 900 mm.
MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS
CARBON STEEL WITHOUT WARRANTY:
Butt weld fittings are manufactured to ASTM A234 material specifications, grades WPA, WPB, or WPC; which corresponds exactly to the material specifications of carbon steel pipe without WARRANTY to ASTM A106 class A, B, or C.
LOW TEMPERATURE FITTINGS:
For low temperature applications, a variety of fittings in materials to ASTM A420 can be offered. HIGH YIELD FITTINGS:
Carbon Steel welded by buttweld method. Upon request, we offer a variety of high yield strength fittings suitable for use with various grades of API 5LX line pipes.
QUALITY CONTROL
The manufacture of buttweld fittings is subject to strict quality control. Our factory is visited regularly by an approved third party quality control team from Europe, and the source of the parent pipe is verified. Rigorous testing is carried out on finished goods before marking and storing for shipment. Test certificates are available as required.
